This apartment building has restaurants on the first floor and offices in the basement, and the customer has a 24-hour emergency response plan with us. A high-water alarm was triggered in the sewage tank installed beneath the basement office floor, so one of our employees went to confirm the situation.

As a result of the on-site investigation, we determined that opening the sewage tank could cause a large number of pests to emerge, so we temporarily closed the lid and prohibited use of the toilets. The high-water alarm was assumed to have been caused by a failure of the sewage pump or level switch. We immediately provided an estimate for drainage using a temporary pump and for renovation work on the same day, and received the order. By installing the temporary pump, toilet use could resume and the impact on tenant operations was minimized.

We then replaced the sewage pump and level switch. The renovation was completed while preventing odors and pest outbreaks. During the work, we also found a pump malfunction in the downstream drainage tank beyond the sewage tank and proposed additional renovation work. We carried out the work at a later date, increasing the reliability of the building’s equipment as a whole.

Through this series of responses, the sewage treatment function was restored to normal and the equipment was improved to a safe condition without significantly affecting tenant business operations. Because the owner, with whom we have had a long-standing relationship, consulted us directly and immediately, we were able to respond quickly from emergency response through improvement, and our same-day response and reliable improvement work were highly evaluated.
